“Highly recommend the beaver tours, a truly wonderful tour and experience, truly a lovely memory.
My partner and I have not been disappointed, it has been really exciting seeing the beavers.  Initially, we did an evening tour with Dave who spotted the beavers and provided lots of background information on what beavers eat, beaver behaviour and what to look for.  Our next tour was on private land organised and guided by Chris, we had an amazing experience seeing the beaver dams which had built, watching adult beavers swimming, very young beavers (kits) out foraging, grooming and swimming.  Without Dave & Chris’s knowledge and experience passed on we would not have had such a wonderful unique experience seeing beavers in their natural habitat along with the birds we saw during the tour.  A truly wonderful tour and experience, definitely magical when you see the beavers”.  Thank you Devon Beaver & Wildlife Tours for a fantastic job organising and guiding the tours, sharing knowledge and understanding of the beavers and beaver habitat, all add to the fantastic experience.”

“I highly recommend Devon Beaver Tours. A friend and I had a fabulous visit to the beavers courtesy of Chris. His knowledge of the beaver families and the location was extensive and very interesting and we had many great sightings of the beavers that we would never have had on our own.” Sue Potter, Devon June 2021

“I’ve been telling everyone the thrill of seeing that beaver suddenly barrelling out from under the little bridge like a wet, hairy train engine and how it continued silently and at great speed away from us with just a few ripples to mark its progressWe all agreed that the evening was one of the best ever. Thank you so much.” Jennifer, Liz and Dee, Devon May 2021

“Chris’s full day tour was the single best day on our Devon holiday, as an enthusiastic – but inexperienced – pair of birders we were keen to see some of the key species in a Devon Spring as well as see our first Beavers. Chris was a brilliant guide, his experience working with the RSPB on Cirl Buntings meant that we were immediately in a safe pair of hands and his affable and easy going nature meant that the hours flew by. Chris went above and beyond, I mentioned that I had never seen a nightjar so after seeing 4(!) beavers Chris insisted on taking us to a well known spot to try and glimpse an early migrant. I cannot recommend Chris enough for a really great day out.” Scott and Joe, Surrey April 2021

“Just wanted to say a big thank you to Chris  for making our mini trip to Devon such a brilliant experience. Venturing out for the first time since ‘Lockdown’, we didn’t know what to expect, but from the first evening spent on the river looking for beavers it was just great. We saw beavers on each evening and Chris ensured that we were in the right place at the right time to get the best experience. With his all round naturalist skills he also showed us the bird, butterfly and dragonfly specialities of the area. All in all this was a superb trip which I highly recommend.” Sheila and Roger Wasley, Gloucestershire July 2020

“Originally my friend and I had planned a birding trip abroad but there was no chance (due to Covid-19) so we took the option of visiting East Devon, with Chris as our expert guide. It turned out to be a great decision as we met the beavers of the river Otter as well as visiting two other main habitats – coast and heath for seeing a variety of birds too. My highlights were the Cirl bunting, Dartford warblers and Peregrine Falcons. The beavers were a delight with several close encounters including watching one male meet a swan family! The day after our trip finished the Re-introduction Project was given permission for the beavers to stay! Thanks Chris, also for sourcing a good cream tea and B&B!” Janice Bridger, Birmingham August 2020

“We had a fabulous evening with Chris who showed us the beavers on the River Otter after a short walk on a flat path.  His experience, gained after several years of observations, was put to good use as he took us to the exact spot where the beavers emerge and at the right time.  We were lucky and saw both a kit and an adult with good views of each which is amazing.  It is wonderful to see truly wild beavers in their natural habitat and to have Chris with us, as an expert guide who was only too happy to pass on his knowledge, made the evening very special indeed.  A wonderful experience and one not to be missed.  Highly recommended.” Lesley & George Carr, Devon September 2020
